Reddit had stopped accepting Bitcoin payments for the past one and a half months. Now, it has decided to go back to accepting the Bitcoin. What’s more! It will also be doubling the cryptocurrency options by accepting Litecoin and Ethereum.
The Bitcoin ban was in effect by Reddit after Coinbase made its move to a new platform. There are site changes that are taking place in Reddit and this will open up the site to accept cryptocurrencies once again. Chris Slowe, the Chief Technology Officer of Reddit, said that they could not upgrade to the latest APIintegration as they did not have time for it. Once the redesign of the site is through, it will be ready to accept digital payments.
There was no time frame given by Slowe as to when the Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be making its appearance on Reddit. But, as soon as the Reddit site turns into a crypto-friendly one, it will start to accept other options like Etherum, Litecoin, apart from Bitcoin.
Reddit was one of the sites that accept Bitcoin when it was trading in just pennies. Reddit has been accepting Bitcoin as a payment option since 2013. It looks like it could start to accept the cryptocurrencies payments by the end of this month or early June.
